Connie is too skinny and has too many knots in her hair. She grows up in the 70’s with her aunt and the aunt’s husband in a newly constructed area in the free church metropolis Jönköping, in the south of Sweden. Her biological father is for sure the funniest person in the world, but he only shows up when it suits him. Connie is not like the other kids. The girls’ games interest her as little as the teacher’s repeated attempts to teach her the alphabet. Soon Connie finds a companion in Kalle, a boy of the same age. Together they fend off the blows from the adult world and defiantly enter a path, which is getting gradually more and more dangerous. Subconsciously, Connie starts imitating her father – the stunning, charismatic charmer, who changes girlfriends more often than he changes underwear, the bohemian, the condom seller, the racer driver and notorious jailbird, the father who pushes limits just for the sake of it.
