An event organiser meets a hitman Severy Junes is a man of many talents. The event organiser uses “uppers” to get him through his event-filled days. Having been a mercenary in a former life, he ends up in a profession where his job is to eliminate people. Cabra has no idea how his life is going to change, when he gets offered a job on the northern fringes of Europe. The paths of Junes and Cabra cross at the Helsinki airport, but it is fate has decided that this meeting will not be the only one. A few wintry days later, the already complicated private life of Junes gets even more complicated. Cabra’s hopes for retirement may not go according to plan because of his murky past. The Professional is a multi-level crime novel, in which Matti Laine weaves the characters’ lives into a colourful web that lends believability for the novel.
