A quiet late-summer morning, an armed robbery is committed against a CIT in the sleepy idyll Klintehamn, situated on the west coast of Gotland. The robbers escape on their motorcycles to a deserted farmhouse in the countryside. When the police finally make its way up to the hiding place, one of the robbers is found murdered, in what the newspapers describe as “cold blood”.
Inspector Anders Knutas initially looks for connections to the motorcycle clubs of Gotland. However, this thread is leading nowhere, and instead he starts searching for answers in the past, all while trying to rein his growing affection for his colleague Karin Jacobson. When the journalist Johan Berg is drawn into the investigation, a tragedy is waiting around the corner.
