Anna Jörgensdotter, b. 1973, is recognized for her sensitive and almost overwhelming style of writing, touching the reader’s emotions like few writers can. Her first novel, 'Pappa Pralin', 2002, is still considered a must among young readers and writers. ‘Pappa Pralin’ is a powerful novel for young adults. A young woman does everything in her power to adjust her roller-coster emotions for this world. She is too much in love, too afraid, and simply too much for this world.
Since her debut, Anna has published novels, poetry and drama. She meets her audience at stage poetry performances. In 2009 she published her first novel for adults, ’Bergets döttrar’ (Daughters of the mountain) – an epic steeped in rural tradition and cramping social patterns. It was unanimously hailed by the critics and sold out already the first week. |

“I know few contemporary prose writers who, like Anna Jörgensdotter, succeeds in creating such intensely pumping and superficially easy flow: you swallow her novels whole.” - Expressen ”Anna Jörgensdotter has a language, a tone of voice and a presence few authors have been granted .” - Skånska Dagbladet “It is all about feeling as much and as intensively as possible, making you all along balance on the border of explosion. Most readers recognize that feeling, which perhaps is the one that unites us.” - Göteborgs-Posten |
